Description:
Translator as the name suggests provides translation from one language to another. They have 54 languages that they translate from and to. What sets apart this app from other translation apps is that nearly half of the languages come with speech. You can say a phrase in English and it will “speak” the chosen sentence in the language of your choice; you have the option of typing the phrase as well.
Pros:
We found the mix of available languages great; the ability to speak the phrase in the various languages was a great positive. The speech to text option (although limited at this time to English only) was also a great feature of this app.
Cons:
The app needs access to the Internet for it to function (although you can save certain phrases in advance), this can be a problem if you are traveling abroad as you might not have access to Internet.
Bottom Line:
Get it! This is a great app for travel, if you have the ability to get Internet access on your iPhone abroad this will make the task of asking locals questions a much easier task.
