Description:

Skitch is a productivity tool that lets you mark up your photos.  These photos can be taken from the app or imported from your iPhone or at last could be web site screen shots you have taken and stored in Evernote.  The app is tied to an Evernote account so if you don’t have one, you will have to open such an account.

If you are not familiar with Evernote, it is a cloud based app that allows you to store pictures, notes or web clippings and links while you are browsing.  It is a good tool to use if you need to store your notes for later retrieval or sharing.

And this is the big problem Skitch faces; many people would rather not use a 3^rd party site to store their photos.

Pros:

Every once in a while you take a photo that requires some mark up or a caption.  This is a free app that lets you do that.

Cons:

Linking the app to Evernote has made this app not appealing to some users.  Allowing storage of the pictures on your phone would have been a better option.

Bottom Line:

So so – If you don’t mind storing your photos on Evernote, this is a good app for marking your photos.

Description:

Certain people like to make lists; they make lists of movies they like to see, books to read, or gadgets they like to buy.  If you are one of them, then let us introduce you to springpad.  Springpad provides a platform for productivity, for task making or wish list. 

The app and the supporting website have a very nicely built UI (user interface) and have several pre built list making categories. These include items from restaurants to books and movies. 

The site also recommends several list makers that are considered leaders in particular areas (such as movies) that you can follow and get updates from them.

We found this app a good competitor to Pinintrest. 

Pros:

We found the UI very nicely designed with very clean lines.  Adding categories and wish list items was easy to do although the sync time between the website and the app was a bit slow.  The fact that you can share your favorite lists with friends and family makes this app/tool very useful.

Cons:

If you are already invested in another productivity tool, it is rather hard to move over your list.  This means making new lists in this platform; some may not want to go through that and lose their history of events.

Bottom Line:

Get it!  If you are in need of a task manager or a list maker this is a great app.

Description: 

If you have tasks then Any.DO would be the app for you. Any.DO is a task manager for your daily activities and to do lists. The app allows you to create tasks, prioritize them, tag them based on activity, share them to provide public shame if you don’t accomplish your task and place reminders around them. It also has a feature that lets you submit a task via voice command. 

Simple gestures allow you to manage your tasks, such as swiping the task shows that it is complete.  

Pros: 

The simple interface and the ability to input tasks via voice command really make this task manager an easy option to keep up with your daily to do list.  Although you can share your task list on Facebook and Twitter we found no reason to share our dry cleaning task. 

Cons: 

The app at times crashes; as new versions come out we hope to see the app stabilize.  We also wish that the calendar would sync with our iPhone calendar so we could keep track of our tasks there.  

Bottom Line: 

Get it!  If you are looking for a simple task manager then this app will do the trick.  We are looking forward to additional functionality that will come as this app gets updated.
