As you probably have heard by now Instagram is being purchased by Facebook. Many people are not happy about the news mainly due to Facebook’s often confusing privacy rules. If you have been using Instagram and are fond of its sharing capability but are looking for alternatives, here is a good option. Picplz provides many of the same options; although you might not have as many of your friends on this app/network you can still take your pictures use their various filters and share them.
Pros:
Picplz provides a number of fun filters such as Russian toy Camera. They provide several filters with borders and some without. You can tag the pictures the location (optional) and you have the ability to set the sharing options.
Cons:
Picplz at times is a bit slow loading pictures; this can be a bit frustrating when trying to flip through photos. While we found that filters fun (and free!) we would hope for more of them.
Bottom Line:
Get it! This is a great app if you want to leave Instagram for a similar product that is not owned (Yet) by a larger company.
