CardMunch a LinkedIn app; provides a tool to organize and digitize your business cards. The app works by having you take a photo of a business card and submitting it to CardMunch. After a short period of time (or long depending how busy CardMunch systems are, we had some cards added within 30 minutes and others that took 12 hours), you will get your business card information added to the CardMunch address book.
Because of the tight integration with LinkedIn, a connect option is available to the newly added contact on LinkedIn (assuming no connection exists). The information of the contact is pulled from LinkedIn so there is a lot more information available than what is on the business card, a major positive.
Contacts – The app saves everything within its own contacts section. You can add them individually to your iPhone contacts section. However, this can be time consuming if you have scanned in many business cards. Also there is no prevention of adding duplicates.
Within the contacts information in the address book a digital picture of the business card you submitted is saved, allowing you to toss all the physical cards away (or recycle!).
CardMunch provides a great tool to the busy business people as it allows an easy way to add a contact to your phone. While there remain areas that the app can be improved, overall it achieves its goal of digitizing your business cards and organizing them for you.
